Sua fase inicial, entre fins dos anos 1960 e meados dos anos de 1980, contou com a participação efetiva de professores como Maria de Lourdes Moraes e Vinícius Lima, entre outros. Nessa etapa, o número de anos era bem inferior à habilitação de Jornalismo, a mais procurada pelos alunos naquela época. Hoje é a segunda habilitação em número de alunos. A partir da reforma curricular dos anos 1980, a habilitação passou por uma reformulação, com o aumento das disciplinas específicas e a contração de novos professores em áreas, como criação, direção de arte, planejamento, mídia, além das disciplinas voltadas para a formação dos comunicadores. Nessa segunda etapa, a habilitação passou a aumentou o número de ingresso de alunos de 25 para mais de 200, como se encontra atualmente. Para exemplificar tal influência, foram utilizadas as celebridades e a visão da população sobre elas. No intuito de estudar se existe uma visão crítica sobre influência da midia na criação de celebridades, estas foram divididas entre celebridades com talento e celebridades midiáticas. Como embasamento teórico foram utilizados autores como Pierre Bourdieu, Jesús Martin-Barbero, Roger Silverstone e Teun Van Dijk. Para estudar como as celebridades são vistas pela população, foram aplicados questionários em cem pessoas segmentadas de acordo com os seguintes niveis de escolaridade: Ensino Fundamental, Ensino Médio, Ensino Superior e Pós-graduação Mestrado/Doutorado. Por meio da análise dos dados obtidos pode-se perceber a influência da midia sobre a população, principalmente sobre os menos escolarizados, na formação e manutenção das celebridades midiáticas. | This work aims to establish a relationship between the media influence and the different levels of schooling. To illustrate this influence, celebrities and what people think about them were used. In order to study whether there is a critical view of media influence in the creation of celebrities, they were divided between celebrities with talent and "media celebrities". Authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Jesús Martin-Barbero, Roger Silverstone and Teun van Dijk were used to ground this analysis. To study how the celebrities are seen by the population, questionnaires were applied in one hundred people, who were segmented according to the following levels of education: Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education and Post Graduate Masters PhD. Through data analysis, it was possible to observe the media's influence on the population, mainly on the less educated, in the formation and maintenance of "media celebrities". On May 24 and 25, 1994, some students of the course organized an event called "Advertising in Debate - 2 days for a weighty idea", which consisted of a cycle of lectures in which the possibility of creating a junior company or a curricular laboratory was discussed. The operation of a junior advertising agency would be, in part, guaranteeing the need for experience for a later entry into the job market of newly graduated students. O currículo da habilitação Audiovisual foi organizado com o propósito de formar profissionais que sejam capazes de: Desempenhar atividades na realização de produtos audiovisuais em suas especialidades criativas, tais como: formatar projetos, escrever originais ou roteiros para realização de projetos em cinema, vídeo, televisão, rádio e outras mídias audiovisuais digitais; adaptar originais de terceiros; planejar e executar atividades de captação de sons e imagens, responder pela direção, produção, divulgação e transmissão de produtos audiovisuais; editar e finalizar programas audiovisuais analógicos ou digitais; desempenhar atividades na geração e disseminação de produtos audiovisuais em suas especialidades de gestão, como produção, distribuição, exibição, divulgação, e outras atividades relacionadas; dominar as linguagens e gêneros relacionados às criações audiovisuais, percebendo-os como espaços abertos à experimentação e à constante renovação; interpretar, analisar, explicar e contextualizar a linguagem audiovisual, em diferentes meios, formatos e modalidades de comunicação; inovar e propor alternativas criativas e mercadológicas para a produção de filmes, vídeos, programas de TV e áudio para diferentes plataformas ou mídias; articular as práticas em audiovisual, em seus aspectos técnicos e conceituais, à produção científica, artística e tecnológica que caracteriza a cultura, e o exercício do pensamento em seus aspectos estéticos, éticos e políticos; assimilar criticamente conceitos que permitam a compreensão das práticas e teorias referentes à criação, produção e circulação cultural de produtos audiovisuais.
