Nos anos 1990, passou a contar com a agência-modelo 296, feita a partir de um projeto final dos alunos e que se encontra em plena atividade. Tendo por base a noção de iconicidade de Charles S. Peirce, como uma possivel mediação entre conhecimento razoável e sensível, esta pesquisa propõe que esforços de categorização não precisam ser encarados como "ranços" do academicismo tradicional e abandonados para se refletir sobre o sentimento dentro da Academia. Para entender o potencial deste conceito, no entanto, é preciso sair da visão estereotipada que o torna um beco sem saida. Achada a saída do beco, a iconicidade peirceana pode trazer reflexões fecundas para os estudos cinematográficos. Sugere-se aqui que esta noção pode dialogar com o conceito de estranhamento de Chklovski, para entender uma arte que nos faz estranhar, que rompe o hábito e nos propõe uma nova visão do que sempre vemos. O preto e branco do filme Pi (dir.: Darren Aronofsky) entra nesta narrativa monográfica como um exercicio de compreender as provocações deste estranhamento; como uma proposta de sair também dos dualismos que costumam imperar em discussões sobre o preto e branco no cinema. | This work attempts to understand the relationship between feeling and rationality beyond the dichotomic perspective that separates them as two antagonistic and insurmountable modes. Building on a foundation Charles S. Peirce's notion of iconicity, as a possible mediation between knowledge acquired through reason and knowledge based on feelings, this study proposes that efforts at categorization don't have to be seen as "sterile" academic exercises and abandoned so we can reflect about feeling within academic boundaries. To understand this concept's potential, however, it's necessary to go beyond the stereotype which makes it a dead end. When a way out of the dead end is found, Peirce's iconicity can bring fertile reflections to cinema studies. This work also aims to discuss how this notion can build a dialogue with Chklovski's concept of estrangement, as a way of understanding a type of art that intrigues us, that breaks habits and proposes a new vision of what are used to seeing. The black and white of the film Pi (dir.: Darren Aronofsky) enters this monographic narrative as an exercise of understanding the provocations of this estrangement, as a possible way out of the usual dualistic debates that haunt discussions about black and white cinema. A partir da reforma curricular dos anos 1980, a habilitação passou por uma reformulação, com o aumento das disciplinas específicas e a contração de novos professores em áreas, como criação, direção de arte, planejamento, mídia, além das disciplinas voltadas para a formação dos comunicadores. Nessa segunda etapa, a habilitação passou a aumentou o número de ingresso de alunos de 25 para mais de 200, como se encontra atualmente. Essa fase teve a participação dos professores do quadro efetivo como João Bosco Serra e Gurgel, Clodomir Ferreira, Wagner Rizzo, Ruth Scaff, José Ramalho Júnior, Christina Sega e Isabela Lara. Nos anos 1990, passou a contar com a agência-modelo 296, feita a partir de um projeto final dos alunos e que se encontra em plena atividade. Com a reformulação curricular dos anos 2000, além das disciplinas oferecidas em sala de aula, a habilitação passou a dispor de um Laboratório de Publicidade, que funciona em instalações apropriadas, contando com espaços próprios semelhantes aos departamentos de uma agência de publicidade, mas voltada para a formação acadêmica dos alunos, unindo os estudos às práticas profissionais. As campanhas realizadas são de interesse social ou de caráter educativo. O laboratório desenvolve, ainda, um trabalho de pesquisa e organização da memória da própria Faculdade de Comunicação.
