O presente trabalho é uma tentativa de entender a fundação da crônica esportiva como gênero de opinião jornalistica e sua subsequente influência sobre a imprensa esportiva e sobre o próprio esporte - mais especificamente o futebol, que é e sempre foi o principal assunto dos cronistas esportivos. A pesquisa abarca a história da crónica dentro do jornalismo brasileiro e a história do futebol no Brasil, e procura determinar em que exato momento de suas respectivas evoluções os dois elementos juntaram-se para dar origem ao estilo de texto conhecido como crónica esportiva. Uma vez detectado esse ponto de encontro, ou seja, o ponto em que primeiro surge a crônica esportiva brasileira como entidade jornalistica própria, o trabalho busca avaliar como se deu a construção e crescimento do gênero e que importância ela teve para a prática da cobertura de futebol no pais e também para o próprio futebol, visto que foram estas suas duas bases. | This project attempts to understand the creation of sports chronicle as a journalistic opinion genre and its following influence over the sports press and sport itself more specifically football, which is and has always been the main topic for sports columnists. The research comprehends the history of the chronicle in brazilian journalism and the history of football in Brazil, and seeks to determine the exact moment of their respective trajectories when both elements joined to originate the textual style known as sports chronicle. Once identified this meeting point, namely the point where Brazilian sports chronicle first appears as a proper journalistic entity. this project seeks to analyze the construction and growth of the genre and how important it was to the activity of football coverage in this country and also for football itself, since those were its foundations.
